Drive Home Show: The Fine Art of What to Pack!

If you’re looking for the perfect winter escape, let me paint you a picture: fresh powder, wide‑open runs, and that unmistakable sound of ski boots clomping across a chalet floor. Yes, friends, we’re talking Asessippi Ski Resort, the prairie gem where your inner snow‑lover gets to come out and play.

But before you blast down the highway with your favourite playlist and a questionable thermos of gas‑station coffee, let’s talk packing. Because nothing ruins a ski trip faster than realizing you forgot something essential… like your mitts… or your sanity.

THE “DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT” LIST

1. Vehicle Safety Kit, non‑negotiable. Winter roads have a personality of their own, and sometimes that personality is “surprise, you’re stuck.” Pack a proper safety kit: booster cables, flashlight, shovel, traction aid, and a little bag of kitty litter. Check out this blog about Winter Road Safety here: The Car Safety Kit That Keeps You Rolling (and Cozy!)

2. Medications, the boring but important stuff. Whether it’s daily prescriptions, pain relievers, or that one allergy pill you only need when you don’t bring it… toss it in the bag.

3. Tweezers, yes, really. Because nothing says “romantic ski getaway” like a rogue splinter from the chalet’s rustic wooden railing, or that pesky chin hair that always has the BEST timing to appear.

4. Phone charger, the lifeline. You’ll want photos, maps, weather updates, and the ability to call your friends to brag about how you definitely didn’t wipe out on the bunny hill.

5. Fuzzy blanket, the cozy MVP. Perfect for the drive, perfect for the cabin, perfect for pretending you’re in a winter rom‑com montage.

6. Snacks, fuel for the slopes. Granola bars, trail mix, or that emergency chocolate bar you swear you won’t eat but absolutely will.

7. Warm layer, because Asessippi doesn’t play around. Base layers, mid layers, outer layers… basically dress like an onion with a lift pass.

8. The fun stuff. Goggles, helmet, skis or board, or rent when you get there!

THE PAYOFF

Once you roll into Asessippi, it’s all worth it. The views, the crisp air, the runs that make you feel like a winter superhero, it’s the kind of place that resets your brain in the best way. And when you’re sitting in the chalet afterward, sipping something warm and feeling your toes again, you’ll be glad you packed smart.
