Drowning on Eagle Lake

A Dryden couple is dead after a tragic mishap on Eagle Lake Monday afternoon.
OPP say 60 year old Karen Feller & 65 year old Witold Feller walked out onto the ice at Bear Narrows to fish when it gave way & they fell into the frigid water & drowned.
Police have been warning for over a week now that the ice is no longer safe due to the recent warm weather.
The matter is being termed an accident & no further investigation will be conducted.
Meantime, a 69-year-old Winnipeg man is lucky to be alive after the A.T.V. he was driving fell through the ice on Lake of the Woods Friday.
2 Kenora residents working nearby managed to pull the man out of the frigid water.
