Drug bust on Shoal Lake #39

The Treaty #3 Police have arrested three people following a drugs and firearms investigation.

Last week, police issued a number of warrants at a home on Iskatewizaagegan #39 (Shoal Lake #39).

Five grams of cocaine were seized along with about $30,000 in other controlled substances.

Five firearms including a sawed-off shotgun were also found.

A 40-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both from Iskatewizaagegan #39 have been arrested along with a 19-year-old Winnipeg man.

They’ve been charged with trafficking and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The 19-year-old has also been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

All three were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The Treaty #3 Police say their investigation targeted the illegal trafficking of drugs and firearms on local First Nations.
