If it’s windy, don’t burn!
On Sunday, the Oxdrift Fire Team responded to a structure and grass fire on Stephenson Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters noticed that multiple barns were in threat of fire damage as heavy winds fueled the grass fire.
The Ministry of Natural Resource and members of the Dryden Fire Service assisted in putting out the blaze, which took about four hours.
The home and a large barn were saved, but another barn and two hectares were a total loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but dry conditions were a huge factor.
