The Dryden Area Health Services Foundation has launched its 2nd Annual
‘Magnetic Red Ribbon’ campaign.
Recruitment Coordinator Phyllis Anderson says the initiative is another
strategy aimed at retaining physicians.
The ribbons, that are placed on your vehicle, boast a Canadian flag and state “Support doctor recruitment”.
They can be purchased at a number of local businesses for $10.
Meanwhile, Dryden has received some help from within to attract more doctors to the community.
The Cities Recruitment and Retention Team recently met with their
newest Physician, Dr. Gerhard Uys to get his views on the recruiting
process.
Coordinator Phyllis Anderson says they found that 1-thing separates Dryden
from other communities.
Anderson states that Uys believes Dryden is unique because local business owners get together to make Doctors feel welcome and appreciated, and he has been in contact with his colleagues about the Cities benefits.
Uys has told the Committee that recruits need more time to take everything in.
The Committee is also looking at a recommendation to help off-set
some of the moving costs.
