A Dryden Councillor has put forward a motion to recognize that their discussions take place on Treaty Three Territory at the beginning of their meetings.
Mary Trist proposed that at the council meeting last night and says it will strengthen and build relationships with indigenous communities.
Trist also says the motion was deferred to a later date where they expect to re-visit it around June or sooner.
She says it was deferred to ensure they will speak to all regional First Nation communities and councils before it is finalized.
Trist also mentions that she talked to Garnet Angeconeb about the motion already to see if it would be a positive step forward.
