A new smoke-free bylaw protecting children in the City of Dryden should be in place on January 1st, 2003.
Dryden City Council is likely to adopt the bylaw at its next regular meeting in two weeks time.
Mayor Sid Wintle says the city and its lawyers have finalized discussions and the bylaw is ready to come before the table.
In the months leading up to its implementation, Wintle notes there will be a public education process.
