Dryden City Council wants to move quickly to hire a doctor recruiter for the community.
Dryden Mayor Sid Wintle feels, using funding through an agreement between the city and the hospital, a recruiter must be hired immediately to address the shortage of doctors in the area.
Meantime, Wintle says council is willing to contribute one million dollars over four years to help the Dryden Cares Committee in its efforts.
But he adds the city wants to examine all options – not just a community-based clinic.
Meantime, the committee must still form a foundation enabling it to match city funds through local fundraising.
