One Dryden Councillor is suggesting bringing in a mediator to resolve the ongoing dispute with the Fire Fighters Association.
Roger Valley is suggesting that a third party lense may be a way around the current situation. Valley says they need someone to come in with some objective eyes, taking a look at both sides and tell them what they can do.
He believes this will not only help bring firefighters back to work, but to resolve ongoing, nagging issues.
Valley says two weeks ago he suggested the mediator to Council, but at that time their was no appetite to the idea.
He notes alcohol in the club room was one out of several issues that needed to be negotiated and dealt with, but now says there are much bigger issues at play.
He adds everything has been mishandled from the start, with no direction from Council. Valley stresses the issue has spiralled out of control and now the safety of people in Dryden is at serious risk.
