Dryden Councilor Meets With Longtime Mayor

The winds of “Hurricane Hazel” are blowing into Dryden.
Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion sat down with Councilor Mary Trist in Ottawa this week to offer her advice on how a proper Council should function.
Trist says the veteran politician stressed the importance of working together and functioning as a team.
She notes everyone is going to have their own opinion but should be concentrating on reaching that common goal.
Trist says McCallion also stated how important it is to have City staff give their ideas.
She says if council and staff sit down and brainstorm, big things can happen.
The mood at Dryden Council lately can be described as frosty.
The 91-year-old McCallion has been Mayor of Mississauga since 1978.
Trist was attending the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference.
