A Dryden-area counselling service has been forced to make cuts after the provincial government ordered various programs to not run deficits.
Darlene Furlong, Director of Sunset Country Counselling Services, a branch of the Dryden Hospital, says mental health, substance abuse and problem gambling programs are affected.
Furlong notes in an effort to balance the books, one full-time counsellor and one part-time counsellor had to be let go.
She adds the Dryden Hospital will continue to lobby the province for increased funding.
