Dryden Embarking On Age Friendly Study

The City of Dryden has received a $60,000 grant to complete an Age Friendly Community assessment and action plan.

Manager of Community Services Steve Belanger says the goal is to make Dryden a more livable and inclusive place to be.

Belanger says they want to identify where the community stands now and what is still needed to move forward to ensure the needs of everyone are met.

He notes the first step is more focused on seniors and how the City can help retain their seniors so they can age graciously in Dryden.

Belanger says the second component will focus on youth.

“Ensure that this is a proper community for our kids, for our families to be able to raise their kids here and that they have everything they need to develop healthy and positive habits and routines right here in Dryden.”

Belanger says at some point soon an outside firm will be collecting feedback and holding consultations.
