The Dryden Fire Service is looking into what caused a fire at a local residence last night.
Information Officer Reagan Breeze says a dryer had caught fire, and when crews arrived there was heavy smoke inside the home.
Breeze says the building received some smoke damage, and they had to clean up after a resident tried using the fire extinguisher to put out the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time due to the damage of the dryer.
Breeze is reminding residents to clean their dryers regularly to prevent lint build up, and to not run the dryer when people are sleeping.
