The Dryden Fire Chief is warning residents to make sure they have working carbon monoxide alarms in their homes.
This comes after the death of a 55 year old man in Thunder Bay caused by CO poisoning.
Ryan Murrell says the compound is very dangerous since it is both tasteless and odourless and can cause sickness, dizziness or even death.
He also says you must have a working carbon monoxide alarm adjacent to each sleeping area of the home if your home has a fuel-burning appliance, a fireplace or an attached garage.
Murrell also says you should be testing your alarms once a month or at the very least once every 6 months.
He also advises the public that if you need assistance installing or selecting smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, please visit the Dryden Fire Service Office on 189 Colonization Avenue, or phone us at 807-223-1178
