Dryden Girls ‘Mighty Moose’ Make Debut Tomorrow At Home

It’s the start of a new era in local girls hockey.

Ed Trist is the President of the Dryden Girls Minor Hockey Association and he says the Dryden Mighty Moose Affiliate Atom and Peewee teams will make their debut on Saturday.

There will be three games against Kenora at 10:00am, 11:15am and 1:30pm.

Trist stresses this is just the beginning.

He hopes the competitive program will expand to the Bantam level next year.

The Mighty Moose will be playing in tournaments and games in the United States, Stonewall, Manitoba and Thunder Bay.

Trist notes he’s also been approached about possibly playing in a Winnipeg league next year.

He stresses that would be a huge thing for Girls hockey with games in Manitoba and Dryden.
