A disastrous five game homestand to start the SIJHL season has finally come to an end for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
Thief River Falls scored two goals in 13 seconds in the second period en route to a 4-2 win Sunday n a special Thanksgiving matinee at the Memorial Arena.
The Norskies won despite playing with 12 players for most of the game and on the back end of a three game road trip that also took them to Fort Frances and Red Lake.
Evan Walls and Curtis Magas scored for Dryden GM.
The Ice Dogs outshot the Norskies 48-29, with Carson Murison suffering the loss.
Dryden GM ended the five game homestand with only one overtime win, two overtime losses and two losses in regulation.
To make matters worse, the Ice Dogs lost star forward Eric Stout to an upper body injury in the second period.
Dryden GM will take Thanksgiving Monday off and try to regroup Tuesday for a Wednesday showdown against the league leading North Stars on the road.
