Hockey season is back and the Dryden GM Ice Dogs are getting started at home.
The Ice Dogs will be hosting their home opener against the Fort Frances Lakers tonight at 7:30.
Team President Mike Sveinson says it is also the start of their new “Shoot to Win” Contest where audience members can shoot pucks to win cash.
Sveinson also says if you do win, then you are automatically entered into the finals for that contest where you compete to win a new car.
When it comes to the players, he says they have been playing very well with each other, even though they haven’t played any season matches yet.
A new player, Cameron Coutre is ready to get started as he came from Victoria BC to play for the Ice Dogs.
He said he heard the team was a winning organization and he believes it is his best chance to make it to the RBC cup.
Long-time Ice Dog Trey Palermo already has a plan and says he wants to start off strong so they can begin the season with a healthy win streak.
Palermo also says the team is more ready than ever after almost winning the Dudley-Hewitt Cup last year.
Tickets for tonight’s game will be sold at the arena and season tickets can be purchased as well.
