The Dryden Area Family Health Team partnered with the Canadian
Diabetes Association Tuesday to hand out 1,500 T-shirts to children
living in Vermilion Bay, Dryden and Ignace.
Director Katherine Campbell says the shirts were distributed to Grade 3
to 8 students with the message “unite for diabetes”.
Campbell says one in 3 children that were born in the year 2000 will
develop type 2 diabetes.
It’s World Diabetes Day and Campbell says everyone should be taking diabetes seriously.
She says area youth should make healthy choices on a daily basis,
which includes plenty of exercise and eating right.
