Dryden Herricanes Weekend Action

The Dryden Pee Wee Herricanes were in Kenora for a girl’s house league hockey tournament this past weekend.
They beat the Kenora Avengers 3-0 with 2 goals from Michaela Morrison and 1 goal from Maya Nickle. Emma Lang had the shut out and was the game MVP.
They won their second game 6-4 against the Fort Frances BDO Stars. Michaela Morrrison and Maya Nickle each had 2 goals while Courtney Michelin and Kaitlyn (“Birdie”) Sillery each added singles. Courtney was the game MVP.
They lost their third game 6-2 at the hands of Fort Frances Lakewood Tire.
Goal scorers for the Herricanes were Michaela Morrison and Maya Nickle.
Their fourth game was very close but they came up a little short losing 2-1 against the eventual tournament winners, Kenora Chaos. The lone goal scorer was Michaela Morrison.
After placing fourth overall in a 9 team tournament, they went on to face the Kenora Carstar Wreckers in the bronze medal match. They lost 4-1 with Maya Nickle scoring the lone goal for the Herricanes.
The next Pee Wee girl’s house league tournament will see the Dryden Petro Can team traveling to Emo next weekend.
