More people in the Dryden area are coming down with flu-like symptoms this spring and that has put added strain on the Dryden Hospital.
Over the long weekend, many patients were lying on beds in the hospital hallways because of a lack of room.
Dryden Hospital CEO Andrew Skeene says many people who were already in hospital were discharged in the afternoon hours as opposed to the morning.
Skeene adds it is not that unusual under these circumstances.
Meantime, the Northwestern Health Unit reports more people have come down with flu-like symptoms in the area this year than last.
