Dryden Hosting NW Invitatoinal Track and Field Meet

A number of young athletes will brave the conditions the next two days at the 2nd Annual NW Invitational Track and Field meet in Dryden.

The event starts Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Harry McMaster Field and some 300-competitors are expected to be involved.

Students from Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay and Fort Frances are taking part.

Categories include Elementary, High School, 7 to 8 Boys and Girls as well the Open events.

Organizer Mike Wood says based on the entry list, this will be fastest High school and elementary meet in northwestern Ontario this season.

Most track events will be held.

Here is the information you need to know:

Times 4-8 Friday and 9-3:30 Saturday
Events 1,500 and 2,000m Steeplechase, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 3,000m, 110m-hurdle, 330m-hurdle, Distance Medley Relay, Relay, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot put, Discus, Javelin.
