It was only a matter of time.
After a lot of talk and speculation, the Dryden Ice Dogs will meet with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League on Monday in Dryden to discuss possible expansion.
MJHL Commissioner Kim Davis says the meeting is an exploratory one and notes nothing formal is on the table on either side.
Davis says they are looking to add at least 1 more team.
The Borderland Thunder have also been in talks with the League, while a group in Kenora has expressed limited interest.
The hang up lies with Hockey Northwestern Ontario, who would not likely approve a move by Dryden and/or Fort Frances with the SIJHL still in existence.
The League entry fee is $250,000.
