A determined band of volunteers complete the hard part of building ice Inukshuks at Van Horne Landing, scene of the Olympic Torch Relay Ceremonies January 4 in Dryden.
After local residents provided hundreds of ice blocks cast in blue boxes, a small group arrived with a truck, chain saw and some serious muscle….and started carving blocks from the ice on Wabigoon Lake!
The Inukshuks need a couple of days to solidify, then they’llbe carbed and colored…all in time for the arrival of the Olympic Torch on January 4.
