A little good news for Dryden on Friday – the City will host the Olympic Flame in January of 2010.
Dryden Mayor Anne Krasilowsky was among local dignitaries who made the announcement before a packed house of students and community volunteers.
As part of hosting the Flame, special ceremonies will be held that will include local lighting, first nations ceremonies and more. It is hoped the event will be staged on Wabigoon Lake.
Members of both Wabigoon and Eagle Lake First Nations were involved in the local committee that secured the event.
