The City of Dryden believes its in the perfect location to become an
official ‘Evacuation Centre’.
Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says they made initial requests at a meeting
with Provincial officials last week to be designated an evacuation centre.
The move would mean surrounding communities would send their residents to Dryden in
the event of an emergency.
Krassilowsky says the City has an excellant emergency plan, airport,
accommodations, restaurants and entertainment.
Emergency Services Commissioner Julian Fantino recently looked over the
City’s emergency plan and toured area facilities and was pleased with what
he saw.
