Dryden Mayor Optimistic About Future Of Forest Industry

The future looks bright for the forest industry in northwestern Ontario.
That’s the belief of Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall who is back from the recent Forestry Summit in Kenora.
Nuttall calls it one of the best summit’s he’s ever attended.
He notes there’s a positive vision for the industry and its impact on northwestern Ontario.
Nuttall says the forestry sector is becoming more proactive, especially when it comes to fighting back against environmental groups.
He notes groups like Greenpeace are on the band wagon to stop everything related to forestry.
Nuttall calls their actions “ridiculous”, warning they are threatening hundreds of jobs.
He’s also celebrating the recent $2-million federal investment at the Domtar Mill.
Nuttall says the money gives the mill longevity, calling the company good corporate citizens that should be around for a long time.
