The Mayor of Dryden says his City shouldn’t be punished for fiscal responsibility.
Craig Nuttall says the Province wants back the roughly $600,000 Dryden saved on construction of the Duke Street Overpass.
He stresses that money is needed to fix several City streets including Duke Street and Highway 17.
Nuttall made the plea at the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association Conference.
Nuttall says the NOMA Conference in Thunder Bay was a positive one for Dryden.
He’s pointing to an announcement that Domtar received 626,000 cubic metres in wood rights from the Province.
