A second multi-vehicle crash on Highway 17 near Baptist Church Road in
a week has police urging drivers to slow down and watch road conditions.
An east bound van was waiting to turn off the Highway Thursday
afternoon when a Ford Taurus struck the van from behind.
The driver of the Taurus veered into the westbound lane, resulting in
a head-on collision.
43-year-old Maurice Soucy of St. Leonard, New Brunswick was extricated
from his vehicle and transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Soucy has been charged with following to closely.
A 39-year-old Sioux Lookout man suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The crash closed the Trans-Canada for 1 hour.
