The Dryden Police Service is hoping to have officers working out of their office while out on the beat.
The Service has applied for funding to install tablets in every cruiser.
Chief Derek West says the equipment will make things easier in the processing and administration of ticketing.
West says the Police database will be on-line in the vehicle and will help officers respond to calls in a more efficient manner.
He notes officers will be able to access information about individuals without having to return to the police detachment.
The tablets cost up to $100,000 and West is hoping to get full coverage from the province.
West says the new technology could eventually pave the way to e-ticketing.
