Dryden Police Chief Says Emergency Services Are Consistent

The Dryden Police Service says it will continue to assist other emergency services in the community, if they have the personnel to do so.

Chief Doug Palson made the pledge at a Police Services Board meeting, when the question was raised about police attendance as first responders to Ambulance calls, with or without paramedics.

Firefighters have often handled the duty and Palson says he hasn’t seen any change during the recent withdrawal of services and things have been business as usual.

Palson estimates that 10-percent of ambulance calls are attended just by police.
