Dryden Police Service Warning Of Multiple Scams In Region

Dryden Police have received many calls over the last few weeks regarding various scams in the region.

Police say early in the month they report a victim receiving a call from “Publishers Clearing House” claiming that she won a car and money.

The victim did not provide any details over the phone and claimed the number was traced back to Jamaica.

Police then say more recently another victim reported receiving an email from the Canada Revenue Agency claiming they were expecting a refund.

The email directed to an authentic looking page which asks for the victims Social Insurance Number and Credit Card Number.

The Dryden Police Service reminds residents to never give out personal information over the phone and to not click suspicious links.
