The City of Dryden is prepared to be a leader in a restructured recycle organization for the region.
The Northwest Ontario Recycle Association began falling apart earlier this year when it was forced to hike levies considerably to cope with a mounting debt.
12 of 17 municipalities served notice to pull out of NORA.
Dryden has been interim coordinator of NORA and is looking at the possibility of assuming a leadership role in a new organization after June 30th.
Several municipalities have expressed interest in joining Dryden but Kenora maintains it will be doing its own recycling starting in July.
