A rare deficit in the last year for the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
The deficit is mainly due to one-time expenses and keeping up with an increase to the in-patient rates.
Chief Executive Officer Wade Petranik says other than that, they may face other problems in the future as well such as aging regional demographics
Petranik also mentions that the loss isn’t as big as the surplus they gained in the year before.
He goes on to also say that this is the first deficit he has seen since he has been at the hospital and the last time they have seen a deficit in over 20 years.
