The City of Dryden has released a draft 2019 municipal budget.
Treasurer Steven Lansdell-Roll says the fiscal document has pro’s and con’s.
The fiscal document contains only 30-thousand dollars in City capital spending and Lansdell-Roll stresses Council and staff have to seriously look at tax levy.
The fiscal document outlines increased costs in labour costs and Dryden Police Services and non-union employee salaries and benefits.
The final budget is expected to be presented and voted on by Council in January.
Other budget restraints include increased maintenance/rehab (building, road, manhole and culverts)
Increased Contracted Services include Recycle shipping, snow removal, traffic light signal study, WWTP Electrical Study
2019 Revenue impact of various levy increase percentages:
1.5% increase. Revenue increase of $212,600. Annual Residential Property Impact of $39
2.0% increase. Revenue increase of $283,500. Annual Residential Property Impact of $52
2.5% increase. Revenue increase of $354,400. Annual Residential Property Impact of $65
3.0% increase. Revenue increase of $425,200. Annual Residential Property Impact of $78
