Dryden Rotary Donates $30,000 to Hospital

A financial shot in the arm for the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

The Rotary Club is giving the hospital $30,000 for the purchase of a new Ultrasound unit for the Oncology Unit.

Fundraising Coordinator Chuck Schmitt and Dr. Adam Moyer accepted the cheque at a Wednesday luncheon.

Schmitt says the machine will be put to good use and he couldn’t thank the Rotary Club enough for their support.

He notes they rely on community support as the provincial government has tightened the purse strings.

Schmitt says they receive only a 1% increase in base funding and notes inflation costs are higher than that rate.

Dr. Moyer stressed how the technology has helped saved lives right here at home.
