Dryden City Council is taking a new path and formulating its own smoke-free bylaw.
Essentially, this means city council will not be adopting the smoke-free workplace bylaw put forth by the Northwestern Health Unit.
Dryden Mayor Sid Wintle says city officials are still developing the new bylaw which will be designed to protect children from second hand smoke in public places.
Wintle adds it is expected to come before council within 30 days and will take effect on January 1st, 2003.
