We may finally see badly needed upgrades to the King Street Underpass.
Dryden Treasurer Adrienne Bodnarchuk says the City is going to be applying for provincial funding to carry out the work.
The Ministry of Infrastructure announced on November 15, 2012 that 51-million dollars in funding would be available beginning in 2013-2014 to municipalities to address critical road, bridge, water and waste water projects identified as top priorities.
A complete structural review of the underpass was done in October 2012, and there were significant repairs recommended which includes the complete replacement of the pavement as well as replacing the sidewalk handrail.
Bodnarchuk says they are asking for 765-thousand dollars.
The total cost of the project is budgeted at 850-thousand dollars.
