A Dryden woman has been defrauded through Facebook.
Dryden Police say the woman contacted them, saying someone hacked into her relative’s account and told her she won $250,000.
The victim was told to send a money order for $700 to a man in Washington in order to receive the prize.
Trusting the source of the message, the woman is now trying to cancel her order and get her money back.
Police say a good rule of thumb is that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
