Construction of 3-new youth soccer fields in North Dryden is on
schedule.
Speaking to Rotary Members last week, Fundraising Coordinator Gary
Nickle stated phase 2 of the $640,000 project is nearly complete.
Nickle says they are waiting for fencing, water hook up and irrigation testing
and notes the sod could be in the ground in a couple of weeks.
He notes they continue to submit grant applications and fundraising efforts are on-going.
Anyone willing to help out can stop by City Hall and donors will be recognized when the complex
is completed.
Nickle says kids should be able to hit the field next spring.
He notes the long-term goal is to install lights, bleachers, a parking
lot, changerooms and a concession stand by 2010.
578-kids were enrolled in soccer this year, with several more turned
away due to a shortage of fields.
