Dryden’s Fall Fest continues this weekend.
Harvest Hay Day will take place Saturday at Laura Howe Marsh, running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It will feature at least 50 vendors, as well as food and family activities.
“We’ve got free fall family photos by Lynsey Jordanna photography. We’ve got balloon tying by Sleepy the Clown, free caricatures by Al Sideen. And don’t forget to bring your kids in costume, because we have the treats and trees walk. We’re planning for over 500 kids this year,” says Laina Smith, one of the organizers.
Paige Rutledge headlines the afternoon of music.
The Canadian country and western singer-songwriter was recently showcased at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta.
Rutledge has also performed at the Canadian Country Music Awards’ Showcase and Country by the Bay music festival in Thunder Bay.
Dryden’s own Northern Rewind will kick off the music at 11 a.m., followed by Rutledge at 12:30 p.m. and Bush Whiskey, another Dryden band, taking the stage at 2 p.m.
We Run This City happens on Sunday.
It is a walk or run of various lengths for anyone.
“That’s going to start at Government Dock. All the races start at 9 a.m. except for the kids’ costumed fun run, which is going to start at 10:30,” says Smith.
“We’re doing that just because we know a lot of parents are running in the races, and this way they can do both.”
Pre-registration is done by going to the Fall Fest website, or by clicking here.
Smith also encourages others to attend and cheer the participants on.
