Dryden’s Tyler Boon Playing For U.S. Title

A local player will lace up the skates this coming weekend for a national hockey title.

Dryden’s Tyler Boon is preparing for the USA National Silver Cup Junior ‘A’ Championship in Chicago.

Boon and his Long Beach Sharks in New York won the NA3HL Coastal Division championship with a 4-3 win over the New England Stars.

The Sharks took the series 2 games to 1.

Long Beach finished the season 35-10-2 and only lost one game in the playoffs to advance to nationals.

Boon, a Kenora Thistles Midget alumni, recorded 3-goals and 13-assists in 40 regular season games and the defenceman finished with a plus 22.

He then added an assist in five playoff games and recorded a plus 3 rating.
