Eagle Cross-Country Team Comes Up Big In Winnipeg

A strong showing for the Dryden Eagle Cross-Country team at the Manitoba Provincial School Championships in Winnipeg.
Andi Wood finished third in the Junior Varsity Girls race, while Kirk Markowski placed 5th in the Senior Varsity Boys race.
Jake Wickstrom wasn’t far behind in 16th place.
Grade nine runners Alex Palmer and Treven Ouellet finished 19th and 20th in the open boys, Senior Varsity race.
Several young Dryden athletes also impressed.
Gavin Wisneski took home a silver medal in the grade 5 race, while Sarah Urquhart finished 7th in the grade 6 race.
Martine Evans, Ally Wisneski, Monica Tourond and Corrin Kuzemchuck took 5th in the grade 8 team competition.
The Eagles travel to International Falls this week to compete against the top teams from northern Minnesota.
