The Dryden Eagles Girls High School hockey team is headed to the NWOSSA Final…but it wasn’t easy!
The Rams proved Tuesday night that they belong to be in the same sentence when talking about the top teams in the league.
Red Lake pushed Dryden to the limit before falling just short in a 4-2 loss to the Eagles.
Dryden Coach Tim Getson says it was a battle and the Rams didn’t quit despite falling behind 3-0.
Getson says the Eagles defence once again came out with a strong performance.
Red Lake out shot Dryden 37-17 and CJ Jolicoeur made some huge saves in the third to keep the Blue and Gold on top.
Elizabeth Carter had a pair of goals including an empty netter, while Emmy Arsenault and Lyndsey Oliphant added singles.
Darci Mann and Alysha Parks replied for Red Lake.
Dryden and Fort Frances will now play for a trip to the All-Ontario Final.
There is no word yet on when game 1 will be played.
