Somebody forgot to tell the Beaver Broncos and Dryden Eagles it was a pre-season match-up.
The Eagles topped the Broncos 12-7 Thursday in a hard-hitting, playoff atmosphere football game.
Coach Geoff Zilkalns says he was proud of his teams effort on both sides of the ball.
Zilkans adds his veterans rose to the forefront and the offense did a great job moving the ball.
Dryden’s defense was especially strong, keeping the Bronco attack at bay for most of the game.
Derrick Tattrie led the Eagles ground game, scoring on a 2-yard touchdown romp.
Adam Swientek accounted for the rest of Dryden’s points.
Linebacker Jamie Mesics says they always loving playing Kenora, noting they always raise their play to another level.
Mesics stressed “it was a fun game to play”.
Dryden opens the regular season at home next Friday against the Elwood Giants.
