Eagles beat up on Churchill

The Dryden Eagles have evened their record in the Winnipeg High School Football League at 1-1 after a convincing win over Churchill Collegiate Friday afternoon.

The Eagles won 46-26 in their home opener.

Raynor Powell had 3 touchdowns, Dean Iwanyk and Carter Gustafson had two each.

The Eagles led 29-8 at the half but didn’t let a downpour in the second half ruin their offence.

Dryden now heads to Kenora next Friday for a game against their NorWOSSA rivals, the Beaver Brae Broncos.

That game is slated to start at 1:00.

The Broncos shutout the Daniel Macintyre Maroons 58-0 Friday afternoon, while the Fort Frances Muskies downed Tec Voc 40-6.
