Eagles Behind Eight Ball In Girls Hockey Final

A heartbreaking loss for the Dryden Eagles Girls Hockey team to open the NWOSSA final.

A Lauren Vold point shot with 1:55 left to play some how got through to fool Jacquie Grandmont as the Fort Frances Muskies defeated Dryden 4-3 Tuesday night.

The Eagles appeared to be sitting pretty as Leah Balla scored late in the final frame to give Dryden a 3-2 lead.

Darra Zieroth and Cara Balla also found the back of the net.

The game featured endless swings in momentum.

The Eagles out shot Fort Frances 40-38.

Dryden will look to bounce back Thursday as they head to Fort Frances to extend the Best-of-3 Final.
