The Dryden Eagles coaching staff is reflecting back on its first season playing ‘AA’ Football.
Dryden finished the regular season tied for third place in the standings with a 5-3 record and was eliminated from the playoffs last Friday with a Quarter-Final loss.
Head Coach Geoff Zilkalns says they didn’t really know what to expect moving up a division this year.
He says they were pleasantly surprised with how aggressive their kids played and how well they adapted.
Zilkalns is calling the season a success.
Zilkalns says he believes his players showed that they can play exciting, physical football that a community can get behind.
He adds their senior players were involved on a team that won more games over a four year period than any other squad in Eagles history.
Players on that circuit include Xavier Korzinski, Brett Webster, Kadin Taylor, Joel Ottertail, Liam McFayden, Thomas Moline and Jarett Hicks.

Looking ahead to next season, Zilkalns believes they will stay in the ‘AA’ Division.
He says they will need a big improvement and an increased commitment from some of their returning players, noting they have talent but their is a bit of a void that they will need to step up and fill.
