The Winnipeg High School Football League has announced that Geoff Zilkalns and the Dryden Eagles coaching staff are the recipients of the 2017 Coaching Staff of the Year award.
The Eagles posted an impressive 5-2 regular season record in their first year of ‘AA’ Football.
They also boasted the top ranked defence in the league, only allowing 42-points.
Meantime, Kadin Taylor and Jarett Hicks were selected to the All-Division All-Star team.
Taylor, a Defensive Lineman, recorded 20-tackles, 10-sacks, 1-safety and a blocked kick.
The highlight was a four sack game on October 6th, setting a new school record. Hicks, a Quarterback, was honoured for his work on special teams.
