Eagles Girls Denied A Repeat Season

There will be a new Girls High School Hockey champion in 2020.

The defending champion Dryden Eagles were eliminated in the Semi-Final falling to the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints 5-1 Thursday

Lauren Loyer scored the lone goal for the Eagles to make it a 2-1 game but the senior Saints didn’t flinch and quickly bounced back with three straight goals to secure the series clinching victory.

The Saints outshot the Eagles 41-17.

Dryden entered the game as the underdog with only three players eligible to move on.

The Saints will compete in their first NorWOSSA championship.
