The Dryden Eagles High School Football team had one goal on their mind heading into the Semi-Final Thursday at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg.
That was not let a repeat of 2015 happen again.
The Eagles advanced to the Championship final with a 28-6 win over ‘AA’ Churchill.
The Eagles were trying to avenge a sour loss in the 2015 Semi.
It was a defensive struggle for the most part as the Bulldogs defence held the high powered Eagles offense in check.
Dryden finally broke loose with three very late scores in the first half.
Jarett Hicks threw for a pair of touchdowns while Carter Armstrong tossed for another one on a trick play.
Churchill would open the second half with a quick six, however Dryden would respond with an insurance touchdown.
Dryden will look to end a memorable season next Wednesday in the big stadium.
The Eagles will play Portage Collegiate.
Portage also beat a ‘AA’ team to advance, downing Elmwood 35-14.
Dryden and Portage did meet in the regular season, with the Eagles coming out on top 27-6.
